Per.spec.tive

Category Archive

The following is a list of all entries from the Visual art category.

Veronica Y

Veronica YI like the way the character’s hair is blowing in the wind, and the way the dragon’s head is all wiggly; these two make a pretty fierce pair!

Morgan D

Morgan DI love so much about this picture: the rich blue used as an accent to the mostly-neutral palette; the delicate linework on the drapery; the well-proportioned hands (and we all know how hard hands are!)–great work, Morgan!

Jesse M

Jesse MI like the use of contrasting colors in this picture. I also think it’s cool how Jesse shows the way you can see through the bottom part of her skirt; drawing transparency is pretty tough.

Nicole H

Nicole HWe don’t get very many non-figural  works  on  per.spec.tive, so I’m glad that Nicole submitted one  for the contest.  And it’s just in time for Valentine’s day! I like the energy of the brushwork.

Shavon W

Shavon WI like the use of perspective to show the space between these two characters.  I wonder so much about the relationship between them…the way they’re posed, and the expressions on their faces give me a few ideas, and give me questions, too.   Wondering about them really draws me into the picture.

Kelly S

Kelly SKelly’s contributed quite a few pics and comments to Per.spec.tive, and I’m glad that she’s submitted something to the contest, too.  This character has an interesting sort of intensity to her; she’s very captivating.  I like the way Kelly uses contrasting colors here, too.

Lauren M

Lauren MLauren’s been such a great supporter of Per.spec.tive, and I was afraid she wouldn’t submit an entry to the contest…she got this in on the last day.  I think it was worth the wait, Lauren!  It looks like a movie poster…and the movie looks like one I’d like to see!

Kevni W

Kevni WI love the dynamic composition of this picture; Kevni’s positions the figure to give a great sense of movement. I also like the stark white highlights on the back and hair. I really wonder what this person’s story is…looks exciting!

Cecilia

Cecilia B

!Per.spec.tive Idol contest CO-WINNER!
Congratulations, Cecilia!

Portrait drawing is really hard, so I think this piece is very impressive. You get a sense of the subject’s personality.

Bentley HThis bird looks so colorful–putting on a plain white background really makes the colors stand out, too.

Amanda B

Amanda B!Per.spec.tive Idol contest CO-WINNER!
Congratulations, Amanda!

Amanda’s a new contributor to Perspective, and I think you’ll agree that she’s made an excellent debut with her Perspective Idol entry! I’m so impressed with the line work on this pic, and Amanda shows off some great figure-drawing skill; the pose looks really natural, which is tough!

Alexis S

Alexis SHere’s Alexis’ Perspective Idol entry.  Can anyone guess how Alexis got such bright colors?  I know!

Brandon L

Brandon RBrandon  has given us a great first entry in the Perspective Idol contest.  I like the expression on this characters face; it makes me wonder what he’s thinking!

Lauren

Lauren2Wow, I really love the composition of this piece. Lauren makes excellent use of negative space for a really dramatic presentation! (Negative space is the “empty” parts of the drawing; in this case, the white areas around of the dragon.)

Brandon L

Brandon RI think Brandon was really creative in inventing this character. I like the way the red fire outlines him. All those cuts and scrapes…I wonder what he’s been tangling with?

Jordan

img32.JPGI like this guy’s face–it’s so intense, and his eyes are kinda scary.   Thanks, Jordan!

Lauren M

Lauren MI like Lauren’s bold shading and lines on this figure. I sure wouldn’t want her mad at me!
(And apologies to Lauren for getting the gender wrong the first time [blushes]…)
